I am an MA Fine Art graduate from City & Guilds of London School of Art (2014 – 2016).
The course provided me with an immersion in both a practical and academic environment and enabled me to articulate and analyse the driving force of my practice; it also allowed me to research and contextualise my work in relation to contemporary and historical artists and practitioners.

My MA show culminated in an installation “The Myth of the White Collar Worker” – a reference to the aspirational life of my parents during the 1950’s – 1970’s and how this lead to ritualistic and repetitive habits and behaviour. I continue to develop work which references everyday domestic objects and commonplace routines, things which are in ‘plain sight’, and which can be seen as a metaphor for wider social and political issues.

Other exhibitions /collaborations include:

  • “Phantom” (January 2017) at Anglia Ruskin University; a group show where new work was created from old based on “centrefold” a series of screen prints (2015)
  • “Pendulum” (September 2015) a pop-up event at the Wellcome Institute Reading Room; a collaboration with MA students from Birmingham University and City & Guilds of London Art School.

Teaching and Mentoring

  • I have mentored an emerging artist, Sarah Carpenter, (September 2016 – May 2017) who was selected by ‘Outside In’ www.outsidein.org.uk to produce a piece of commissioned art work for Morgan Stanley Bank (Canary Wharf) in response to the exhibition “The American Dream – Pop to Present” at the British Museum (2017)
  • I have taught young people and adults in schools, colleges of Further Education and in Community Education; and most recently I was the Curriculum Co-ordinator at Putney School of Art & Design.
